The Complete Pattern Drafting Program Skill and Level Rating Categories:
Find your pattern drafting level by using VSC’s pattern draft rating categories. This is the most accurate pattern drafting rating system available.
Beginner: The client has zero or some basic skills, knowledge and experience in drafting and sewing.
Intermediate: The client has moderate skills, knowledge and experience in drafting and sewing. The client already has some basic knowledge of drafting basic tops, skirts and simple dresses. The client can execute basic dart and pattern manipulations.
Advanced: The client has good skills, knowledge and experience in drafting and sewing. The client can draft complex tops, skirts, pants and lined jackets.
Professional: The client is experienced and is making a professional living from her/his fashion design skill.

Program Title: Commercial Pattern Drafting Short Program
Pattern Draft Rating Category: Beginner
Program Description: The client will learn the basic fundamentals of drafting flat patterns on paper to create all sorts of sloper/block patterns from standard size chart measurements or using a real person’s body. Textbook notes will be provided for all lessons. The client will draft basic front and back bodice, skirt and sleeve sloper/block patterns, as well as learn how to manipulate all darts and design. In each lesson, the client will cut and sew their own muslin mock-up after they finish drafting each set of their own patterns. The client will have the opportunity to transfer their working draft pattern onto Manila hard paper, as their final copy. The client will have more than sufficient skills to draft basic tops, skirts, and dresses. The client will draft and create up to 3 sets of sloper/block patterns. The client will have up to 4 muslin fabric prototype mock-ups stitched together.

Program Title: Pattern Draft Engineering Short Program
Pattern Draft Rating Category: Intermediate
Program Description: The client will draft basic sloper/block patterns for pants, jeans, jackets and dresses, as well as learn how to manipulate their sloper/block patterns to create new original designs. Textbook notes will be provided for all lessons. The client will draft, cut and sew their pattern pieces together into muslin mock-up prototypes for the final fit test. Once the fitting is complete and the corrections are done, the client will transfer their working draft pattern onto Manila hard paper, as their final sloper/block pattern. The client will learn and draft basic slopers/blocks for trousers, jeans, jackets, and dresses, as well as learn how to execute and draft current designs from magazines, online photographs, Instagram, etc. The client will be able to draft and create up to 3 sets of sloper/block patterns. The client will have up to 4 muslin/real fabric prototype mock-ups stitched together.

Program Title: Menswear Pattern Drafting Short Program
Pattern Draft Rating Category: Beginner OR Intermediate
Program Description: This program will help the client to learn how to draft basic menswear designs, such as drafting basic shirts, vests, flat front trousers, jeans and jackets. The client will learn how to measure and draft up to four sets of men’s sloper/block patterns. The client will draft, cut and sew their working draft pattern into muslin or the actual fabric. The client will learn how to measure, draft, cut and sew up to four sets of men’s sloper/block patterns, as well as create up to three complete garments in muslin or the actual fabric. The client will receive textbook notes and formulas for this entire program.

Program Title: Children’s Wear Pattern Drafting Short Program
Pattern Draft Rating Category: Beginner OR Intermediate
Program Description: If you want to learn how to draft basic children’s wear patterns/designs, this is the program for you. The client will learn how to draft basic tops, bottoms and dresses, as well as jackets for children’s wear. The client will draft up to four sets of children’s wear sloper/block patterns, as well as design and draft up to two complete garments by the end of the program. The client will draft, cut and sew their working draft pattern into muslin or the actual fabric in each lesson. The client will be able to measure, draft, cut and sew up to four sets of sloper/block patterns, as well as create up to two complete garments of their choice in muslin or the actual fabric. The client will receive textbook notes and formulas for this entire program.

Program Title: Evening Wear and Bridal Wear Pattern Drafting Short Program

Program Description: This program is designed for the client who wants to learn about bridal and evening wear trade secrets. In this program, the client will learn how to draft and create up to three sets of bridal or evening wear sloper/block patterns. The client will learn how to measure, draft, cut and sew their own working draft patterns into muslin fabric or the actual fabric. Once the final slopers/blocks are perfected, the clients can design as many dresses as she/he wants. The client will be able to measure, draft, cut and sew up to three sets of bridal and evening wear sloper/block pattern mock-ups, as well as create up to three complete garments of their choice in muslin or the actual fabric. The client will receive textbook notes and formulas for the entire program.

Program Title: Modern Knitwear Pattern Drafting Short Program
Pattern Draft Rating Category: Beginner OR Intermediate
Program Description: This program is designed for the client who wishes to learn about basic knitwear pattern drafting. The client will have to supply their own knit fabric for this program. The client will learn how to measure, draft, cut, sew and achieve the perfect fit for any knitwear construction. She/he will get to design, draft, cut, and sew up to four knitwear garments in this program. The client will create up to four sets of knitwear sloper/block patterns, as well as create up to four complete garments of their choice in the actual fabric. The client will receive textbook notes and formulas for this entire program.

Program Title: The Complete Industrial Pattern Drafting Long Program
Pattern Draft Rating Category: Beginner OR Intermediate
Program Description: The client will learn all pattern drafting fundamentals from the basic to the most advanced and sophisticated pattern drafting techniques used by the professionals and experts in the apparel industry. The client will measure, draft and create sloper/block patterns from scratch, as well as learn all the techniques of dart manipulation and trade secrets used in the industry to create the perfect fit. The client will receive up to 5,000 pages of textbook notes, formulas and theories from the 15 most current and relevant pattern drafting textbooks used around the world. The program covers, in great depth, pattern drafting for tops, blouses, pants, jackets, dresses, capes, costume designs, bustier tops, corsets, jeans, knitwear designs, etc. The client will master pattern drafting technical skills to create up to 25 sets of sloper/block patterns, as well as up to 20 complete sets of patterns, which she/he can use for future collections or for production overseas. The client will have up to 40 muslin mock-ups to keep for their future business ventures. The client will learn all of the tricks and secrets used by professionals to create the perfect fit and cut.
